Dentures are custom-made removable replacements for missing teeth that can transform both your smile and your quality of life. Whether you're missing several teeth or a complete arch, today's dentures are more comfortable and natural-looking than ever before. At McCarl Dental Group, we create personalized full and partial dentures that restore your ability to eat, speak clearly, and smile with confidence.
Dentures help you return to enjoying your favorite foods and speaking clearly without hesitation. Many of our patients tell us how refreshing it feels to laugh, smile, and be social without worrying about missing teeth.
Beyond replacing teeth, dentures provide crucial support for your facial muscles and structures. This helps prevent the collapsed look that often occurs with tooth loss.
We can match the color, size, and shape of teeth to complement your appearance, whether you want to recreate your natural smile or make subtle improvements.
We'll start with a thorough examination and discussion about your goals and expectations. We'll explain your options—from conventional full dentures to partial dentures or implant-supported solutions—helping you choose the best approach for your specific situation.
We take digital impressions and measurements of your mouth to create preliminary models. For patients needing extractions, we may recommend immediate dentures that can be placed the same day as extractions. This ensures you're never without teeth during the healing process.
Before finalizing your dentures, we'll have you try wax or plastic models to evaluate fit, appearance, and comfort. This crucial step allows us to make adjustments to ensure your final dentures look natural and feel comfortable, giving you the opportunity to preview your new smile.
When your custom dentures are ready, we'll carefully check the fit and make any necessary adjustments. We'll provide detailed care instructions and schedule follow-up appointments to address any adjustment needs as your mouth adapts to your new dentures.
Most patients need a few weeks to fully adjust to new dentures. Initially, you might experience increased saliva flow, mild irritation, or slight difficulty with speaking and eating. These issues typically resolve as your mouth adapts. We'll work closely with you during this time to make any adjustments so that you're completely comfortable.
Not with our approach. Today's dentures use advanced materials and techniques that create remarkably natural results. We take time to customize the size, shape, and color of the teeth, as well as the appearance of the gum portion, to complement your features.
Daily care includes brushing your dentures with a soft denture brush and mild cleanser (not toothpaste, which can be abrasive). Remove and rinse dentures after eating, and soak them overnight in a denture solution. It's also important to maintain good oral hygiene by brushing your gums, tongue, and palate every morning before inserting your dentures.
